Impact Grantmaking at Rise
Rise Light & Power is deeply committed to being a good neighbor and partner to the Western Queens and Roosevelt Island communities.
We have been proud to support local organizations that serve NYCHA residents, youth, families, and seniors who live and work near the Ravenswood Generating Station since we began operating the site in 2020.
Our Trust-Based Approach
We provide Impact Grants to organizations that serve Western Queens and Roosevelt Island to build strong relationships with our grantees and the communities they serve.
As a corporate partner, we prioritize community input, invite advocacy for local needs, and encourage partnerships that provide meaningful and long-term opportunity – particularly to NYCHA residents.
As we strive to advance New York’s transition to a clean energy future, our grantmaking strives to promote four main focus areas:
Environmental Justice
including advocacy, education, and climate change mitigation
Economic Empowerment
including engaging young people in STEM programs, scholarships, workforce development and job training, business development, and financial literacy
Health and Wellness
including food security initiatives, quality of life issues, and healthcare access
Community Building
including leadership development, youth and senior programming, initiatives that promote community safety and social cohesion, and cultural programming
