Jim oversees legal, market, and compliance matters for all company activities. He has worked in New York’s utility industry since 1987, when he began as an engineer and project manager for various power, natural gas, and general capital project improvements for regulated utility companies on Long Island and in Brooklyn. After graduating from law school in 1995, he helped spearhead industry development projects, with a focus on integrating them into the Northeast region’s ever-changing competitive markets. Before joining Rise, Jim was Director and Senior Regulatory Counsel for TransCanada Corporation, responsible for managing the legal and compliance activities of its northeast power and energy businesses.

Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College and a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University.
